Founding the Keenan Development Group
In 1985, Robert D. Keenan started the Keenan Development Group in Florida with the goal of creating a property development company that would produce beautiful, sophisticated and cost-effective spaces.
The Keenan Development Group began with a focus on the development of industrial and office service products and quickly conquered the market, building a portfolio approaching one million square feet of industrial and office space. Mr. Keenan’s development experience dates back to 1953 and his wealth of knowledge helped make the Keenan Development Group a success in the competitive Florida real estate market.
Residential, Office and Resort Properties
As the Keenan Development Group grew, it began to expand outside of the industrial and commercial sector into other areas of Florida’s real estate market, shifting its focus to residential construction in the early nineties which resulted in the construction of 600 apartments.
In the mid-nineties, the company expanded its focus and operations again, developing office space throughout the Florida area. Today, the Keenan Development Group owns and manages more than 750,000 square feet of Class A office space.
With our portfolio of properties firmly established in Florida, the Keenan Development Group recently embarked on a new challenge: expanding operations into developing mountain resorts in Canada. Our first development, in Kimberley, British Columbia, consisted of constructing beautiful timber frame chalets at the base of the Kimberley Alpine Ski Resort. Additionally, land has been acquired in Fernie, British Columbia for slope side development as the recreational market picks up steam.
